our story

a small thing,
made for
the quiet decade.

floraguard did not come out of a marketing meeting. it came out of a kitchen in upstate new york, a midwife’s notebook, and a long list of women who had handed their forties off to silence because nothing on the shelf was actually working. we are a small team. four strains. one capsule. that is the whole product.

how it began

a midwife, a kitchen, a notebook.

floraguard did not start as a product idea. it started as a pattern — the same story, told back to a midwife in our circle by women in her practice, over and over, for years. things had changed. no one had explained what was happening. the supplements they were buying were either generic gut probiotics dressed in pink, or boutique formulas with no actual evidence behind them.

so we did the unglamorous part. we read the literature. we talked to clinicians who specialise in midlife. we narrowed a long list of lactobacillus strains down to the four with the most replicated, peer-reviewed research specifically in the vaginal microbiome — not generalised gut data wearing a women’s-health label.

what we ended up with is small and clear. four named strains. trial-level doses. no proprietary blend. made by hand for the women who had quietly given up trying to find a real answer.

what we believe

three rules
we will not break.

i.

strain-specific, or nothing.

every probiotic strain in floraguard is named to its identifier on the label, with published research behind it. not just “lactobacillus.” l. crispatus CTV-05, l. rhamnosus GR-1, and the rest.

ii.

trial-level doses, or nothing.

we dose each strain at the level used in the trials we cite. if we cannot deliver the dose the research was run at, the strain is not in the formula.

iii.

plain language, or nothing.

a lot of what makes women’s intimate health hard to talk about is that the available language is bad. we use clear, non-euphemistic words throughout — because vagueness has done enough damage already.

where it is made

a small u.s. facility,
by hand.

we make floraguard in a gmp-certified herbalist facility in the united states, in deliberately small batches. every lot is third-party tested for strain identity, cfu count, and microbial purity before it leaves the room.
